About Us

The Financial Inclusion Advocacy Centre is an international action-oriented microfinance think tank geared toward an exhaustive financial inclusion. Exhaustive financial inclusion is a status in which everyone who can use them has avenue to a range of superior financial services at affordable prices, with ease, nobility and consumer protections, delivered by a range of provisions in an anchored, competitive and ambitious market to financially capable clients.

The Financial Inclusion Advocacy Centre’s mission is to build the institutional strength and outreach of the microfinance sector, by providing a full range of high-quality, best-practice technical inputs and support to all industry stakeholders, in a sustainable and demand-driven manner. As an independent support centre, FIAC is committed to promoting innovations, transparency, and improved outreach to the poor and ever-improving performance in the microfinance industry.

The Financial Inclusion Advocacy Centre was founded by microfinance experts in early 2015 to institutionalize its work with various microfinance institutions in Ghana and other part of Africa.

FIAC currently has 3 technical units: 1) Ratings and Appraisals; 2) Technical Assistance; 3) Research & Innovations. In November 2015, FIAC opened its first branch office in Accra, Ghana where it has on-going programs for a range of clientele and the head office is situated in Kent in the UK.

FIAC currently has a staff of 25, including its head office in Kent, UK and country office in Accra, Ghana. FIAC staff is assisted by three expatriate microfinance experts from Europe and America. Expatriates provide technical input for all units, as well support in the areas of strategic planning, operations, public relations and finance.

Our People

The Financial Inclusion Advocacy Centre currently has a growing staff of over 25 microfinance professionals, working out of head office in Kent, UK and its West African office in Accra, Ghana. FIAC staff has a strong commitment to its mission, bringing a blend of private, public and non-profit sector experience. FIAC staff includes former commercial bankers from Goldman Sacs, World Bank, UNDP and others, as well as auditors, investment analysts and business development specialists and from Price Waterhouse, Ernst & Young, and KPMG. FIAC staff includes a leading group of microfinance practitioners and sector leaders from the industry. Staff members have wide national and international microfinance experience, including background in Islamic banking.
